FYI

Since a few people have asked I figured I should let the public know, we have decided how to spell our son's name.

Berkley Aaron Lindseth

Apparently we aren't fond of extra e's but extra a's are A-OK. No pun intended.

Ladies...

Tired of having to shave that unsightly bikini line? Bumps and rashes driving you mad?

Have we got the answer.

You see, with this bathing suit you'll keep onlookers wondering, did she forget to shave or is that just part of the ensemble? And as all modern women know, you should always leave them in suspense.

Have You Ever?

Really, really wanted chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream frosting?

Really, really not wanted to make chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream frosting?

Had your husband drive you to three, yes three different grocery stores in search of chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream frosting?

Walked in the front door, shoulders down, head down defeated by the fact that grocery stores seem to only make chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream or white cake with white butter cream?

Slumped down on the couch with tears in your eyes over FREAKING CAKE?

Felt really ridiculous because all you can still think about 24 hours later is this cake?

No? Hm...just wondering.

I Want To Believe

One of the things Shawn and I bonded over on our very first date was our mutual love for The X-Files. Since we're both pretty hardcore I thought it would be fun to do a space theme for the baby's room if it were a boy.

This weekend I finished up these little toys I'd been working on for the nursery. One of my girls at work said, "your baby is going to have the best sense of humor." I guess making stuffed aliens for your child is strange, who knew?

Here's a little preview of our out of this world baby room.

Flowers Galore

I didn't take a picture when the hollyhocks were at their peak but I still think they look pretty in this one.

From the Lakes of Minnesota...

For Independence Day we had our nephew Kaden. We took him to Farm Country the night before and he was anxious to get aboard a pony.

About six seconds after getting on he kept chanting softly, "off...off...off." Shawn was in the bathroom but I just kept laughing at him because I wasn't about to get him off when he wanted to get on so badly. He endured it for about a minute and his chanting got louder so I asked the girl to get him down. I laugh just thinking about his mumbled chant.

He did however LOVE this Jacob sheep. It was hard to tear him away to go look at the other animals.

We had a fun BBQ at Joel and Kim's on the actual holiday but I forgot to take any pictures.

After that we watched the Lehi city fireworks, which aren't that great but we packed a picnic and had fun with Aunt Amy and Uncle Luke. Kaden enjoyed the small ones we lit ourselves more than the ones in the sky. He was jumping up and down and basically get very giddy.

I really do enjoy our nation's birthday. We have a lot to be grateful for.

A Last Hurrah

Since Shawn and I both had a long weekend for the holiday, we decided to take one more day off and do a mid-week get away before Baby Berk makes his way into the world. We wandered off to the exotic land of Park City, Utah 40 whole minutes away from our home.
You might notice that while I myself feel vampire white, my husband's skin tone puts Edward Cullen's to shame. Perhaps he should start sunning with his shirt off? I've tried telling him time and time again.
You'd never guess that right after that top picture was taken a big ol' thunderstorm rolled in and it just kept on rollin' all day long. So we ended our pool session and headed for some pedicures. They did a really long foot and leg massage so it was totally worth it and Shawn enjoyed it as well. The part I did not enjoy however is that my nail art looks like a 4 year old did it. That's why you're getting the photo of it, not because I'm proud, but because I'm embarrassed and I need the world, particularly America to know that at least my thoughts were pure as I tried to embrace our nation's birthday through my toes.
Here we are on main street in Park City. I've honestly never walked down Main Street there and it was really a lot of fun. I cannot believe how huge I look in this picture. Especially my face. Holy face.
We got an excellent tip from my co-worker Gretchen. She told me to pick up the local paper because there are always adds for buy one get one free entrees at good restaurants. There were actually like, 10 different buy one get ones to choose from. We ended up going to the Purple Sage and I loved my food. Veal meatloaf over yummy mashed potatoes with roasted brussel sprouts. I love brussel sprouts so much! And they were prepared to perfection.

Our two nights away were really super fun and very relaxing. Anyone want to baby sit so we can do it again next year?
